About the airport

Sergey Korolyov Kurumoch Airport is the international airport of Samara, the second busiest in the Volga region by passenger traffic. It is located near the village of Beryoza, 35 kilometres north of Samara and 45 kilometres east of Tolyatti. It serves Samara, Tolyatti and all other destinations in Samara Oblast, and is also used by residents of neighbouring regions. The airport is named after the village of Kurumoch, situated 7 km to the south-west.

It has the status of a federal airport. It is one of 20 hub airports in Russia.

In 2020, the airport ranked 17th among Russian airports by passenger traffic; due to the COVID-19 pandemic, passenger numbers fell by 40% to 1,700,000.

In 2021, the airport handled 3,004,000 passengers, slightly exceeding the pre-pandemic 2019 figure, indicating a recovery in air traffic, although a significant number of international flights were still absent at the end of 2021.
