About the airport
V. K. Kokkinaki Anapa International Airport is an airport of federal significance. It is located 5 km northeast of Anapa railway station, 4 km east of the village of Vityazevo, and 15 km northwest of the centre of Anapa.
The airport operator is Aerodinamika LLC.
It is a joint-use aerodrome; besides civil aviation, it is used by the Russian Ministry of Defence aviation.
It regularly appears on the "List of the busiest airports in Russia". The air route length from the airport to Moscow is 1350 km, with a flight time of 2 hours.
In March 2016, construction of a new terminal began, which will subsequently handle all domestic flights, while the old terminal, after reconstruction, will serve international flights. The main construction work was completed in January 2017. The official opening of the new terminal took place on 12 July 2017. The project was completed 11 months ahead of schedule. The area of the old terminal complex is 5,000 square metres. The new terminal covers an area of 11,800 square metres, with a capacity 1.5 times greater — 600 passengers per hour. The investment in the project amounted to about 1.4 billion RUB. The construction project of the new terminal at Anapa Airport was included in the investment support programme of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and is being implemented with the company’s own funds as well as borrowed funds from Sberbank.
