About the airport
Ust-Ilimsk Airport received its first flight Irkutsk — Ust-Ilimsk in February 1980. It is located 22 km northwest of the city of Ust-Ilimsk in Irkutsk Oblast. In 2001, it ceased to exist and was removed from the Register of Civil Aerodromes of the Russian Federation. In August 2013, it was granted the status of an aerodrome site; the runway was reduced to one thousand metres, and flights to Irkutsk were resumed at the same time. All major buildings and structures were sold off to cover the airline's debts or dismantled illegally during the airport's inactivity. Currently, the Ilim Group has built a terminal building and a refuelling station, the commissioning of which allows flights to Irkutsk and Krasnoyarsk to be operated without additional refuelling in Bratsk.
