About the airport
Petrozavodsk, Karelian Petroskoin lendoažemu, Finnish Petroskoin lentoasema) is a joint-use airport: the airport of the city of Petrozavodsk and an airfield of the Russian Air Force. It is located 12 kilometres northwest of the city near the village of Besovets. Founded in August 1939. It has the status of a federal international airport.
The airport is capable of handling Il-76T, Boeing 737-800, Boeing 737-MAX8, Yak-42, Tu-134, Sukhoi Superjet 100, Il-114, An-12 aircraft of classes 3-4, as well as helicopters of all types. Runway classification number 38/R/A/X/T. Maximum take-off weight 150 tonnes.
