About the airport
Olyokminsk is a regional airport located five kilometres northeast of the town of Olyokminsk. It was opened in 1942. During the Great Patriotic War, more than eight thousand combat aircraft were delivered via the Olyokminsk airfield along the ALSIB air route from the USA to the front. Currently, the airport provides regular air service to Yakutsk and Irkutsk.
