About the airport
Mirny is an airport in the city of Mirny in Sakha (Yakutia). It is located to the east of the main residential area, near the quarry and ground facilities of the Mir kimberlite pipe.
It provides a number of regional flights, as well as direct domestic flights to Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk and Moscow. It serves as an alternate airport on transcontinental routes and from North America to Asia, operated in accordance with the international ETOPS standard. In emergency situations, the airport can accommodate airliners such as the Airbus A300, Boeing 757, Boeing 767 and others.
