About the airport
Chulman is a federal dual-purpose airport located 8 km from the settlement of Chulman in Yakutia and 40 km from the city of Neryungri. It provides regular air service to Yakutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, Moscow, Simferopol, as well as to district centres of neighbouring regions.
It serves as an alternate airport on transcontinental routes and from North America to Asia, operated in accordance with the international ETOPS standard. In emergency situations, the airport can accommodate aircraft such as the Airbus A300, Airbus A310, Airbus A330, Boeing 757, Boeing 767, Boeing 777, and others.
The average flight time from Moscow is 6 hours 20 minutes; the air route length is 5100 km.
On 6 June 2025, the airport was named after Gavriil Chiryaev, the first secretary of the Yakut CPSU regional committee.
