About the airline
It holds the status of the national airline of China. It operates regular flights within the country and worldwide.
Air China Ltd is the state airline of China, headquartered in Beijing. It is the second largest Chinese carrier by fleet size after China Southern Airlines. A member of the global airline alliance Star Alliance since December 2007.
It is the flag carrier and the only airline to bear the flag of China on its aircraft. The logo features a phoenix in the shape of the acronym VIP and the name "Air China" in both English and Chinese, with the Chinese characters designed by Deng Xiaoping.
The main hubs of Air China are Beijing Capital International Airport, Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, and Shanghai Pudong International Airport.
In 2007, Air China was ranked 461st in the list of the world’s top 500 brands.
In 2013, the airline carried 51 million passengers, with a seat load factor of 81%.
