About the airport
B. V. Volynov Airport is an international airport of federal significance serving the city of Novokuznetsk. It was previously located in the Prokopyevsk district on the territory of the Kalachevo settlement, twenty kilometres west of the centre of Novokuznetsk. On 25 May 2022, deputies of the Legislative Assembly of Kemerovo Oblast (Kuzbass) supported the initiative to annex the territory of Volynov Airport and the road leading to it to Novokuznetsk. The airport neighbours the settlements of Krasny Uglyokop and Spichenkovo, which are part of the Zenkovsky district of the city of Prokopyevsk, the village of Lushchevo, and the settlement of Kalachevo in the Prokopyevsk district of Kemerovo Oblast.
The airport complex includes an air terminal and an onboard catering workshop, designed to serve two hundred passengers per hour, as well as a restaurant, bar, canteen, a 97-bed hotel, a lounge for first and business class passengers, a guarded car park, and a mother and child room.
